All About Our Owner: Zara

All about our owner: Zara. I’m sure many of you are wondering who is this girl who is constantly emailing us, well I’m here to tell you all about me!

Childhood:

I grew up on a farm. My family had a small hobby farm but my grandparents had a large 200 Acre farm. I spent much of my childhood in the fields bonding with Cows, sheep, and pigs. I’ve always had a love of animals which was instilled in me by my parents.  We were taught that animals deserved our respect (all animals). My sister currently lives in my childhood home and has continued to have animals of all varieties, I love going to visit and hang out with her menagerie as often as I can.

Employment:

I’ve held so many different jobs in a variety of fields.  I served as a Canadian Army Reservist for 3 years, I worked as an Early Childhood Educator for 8 years (I hold a diploma in ECE from George Brown College), I’ve also held positions as membership services, secretary, librarian, and even worked for an auctioneer as a Teenager.

Personal Life:

I am the proud mother of 3 amazing kids (Willow, Alex, and Zacc). All 3 of my children are Autistic and I’m very passionate about supporting various charities like Autism speaks Canada and Variety the Children’s Charity.

I’m happily married to my husband Avinash, this year we will be celebrated our 6th anniversary

Currently, in our home, we have 2 fur babies Luna (our director of snuggles) and Fang (our director of shipping). We also have 2 scaly babies, our Bearded Dragons (Wrinkles and Frank). Right now they are hard at work as my office helpers.

Cat Sitter Toronto Inc.

I began working for Cat Sitter Toronto in November of 2018. Not long after starting as a sitter, I was promoted to Office Manager. In 2020 when Charlene (the founder of Cat Sitter Toronto), relocated outside of the province, I became the full owner of Cat Sitter Toronto Inc.

 

Certifications:

During the COVID-19 slow down, I’ve took several different certifications to help me run the best Cat Sitting Business in Toronto. My personal goal is to learn all I can about every type of pet we care for!  As a company Cat Sitter Toronto Inc. strives to be the best. We want you to feel at ease and enjoy relaxation when you travel. As our Motto says “Caring for Cats isn’t what we do, it’s who we are”. I also became a Certified Professional Pet Sitter with Pet Sitters International

What I love about this Business

Firstly I love animals and working in a business that provides care and support for animals is so rewarding. Secondly, I can work from home which allows me the flexibility to care for my kids (Human, fur, and scales), and be there for them. Lastly, the clients, you are all so amazing and truly make the staff and myself feel valued and respected in this job we do.
