Self Care During COVID-19

Self Care During COVID-19

In today’s busy world it’s so important that we take the time to care for ourselves.  Self care during COVID-19 is not only care for our physical bodies but for our Mental Health as well. Luckily studies have shown that owning a pet does help with Mental Health, so kudos for already taking that step (hehe). Here is a self care checklist to get you thinking about what you currently do for yourself and what you might want to add to your daily routines

Self Care Checklist

During COVID-19 I’m sure we’ve all felt the stress or the isolation. It seems every week there are new guidelines to follow and there is so much confusion over social bubbles, work and back to school policies. keeping up with it all can be daunting, so now is the time to think outside the box in how we plan our social gatherings, some examples of things that you can do are:

  •  Host a ZOOM Game Night with Family and Friends: We did this with our friends and it was a hit!
  •  Join Webinars: A great way to connect with others professionally
  •  Listen to Podcasts: A way to feel like part of the conversation.
  •  Do a Facebook/Instagram Live: I have a friend who would go live while doing their dishes each night, just a great way to connect with others
  • Use FaceTime or WhatsApp: talk with family and Friends while seeing their faces

Why not try Self-care bingo with your family and friends? Gather your friends (social distancing of course) and decide on a prize, then set a timeline for the bingo (one week or one day), tag each other on social media (tag us too we would love to see the games in action @catsittertoronto) as you complete your game. Remember the most important thing about self-care is YOU! Take time each day even if it’s 5 minutes and do something for you!
