Great Kitty Charities You Can Support Today: With many people staying home due to the pandemic, thousands of happy foster cats now have a cozy place to stay while they wait for their forever families to find them! We all love a successful adoption story, don’t we? Today, we’ll go over some amazing local and international initiatives that are working hard to make sure all cats are cared for and loved! While we all may not be able to foster neonatal kittens, there are many ways we can support organizations so that they can continue doing what they do best! Here are few options:

Tabs for a Cause – The Jackson Galaxy Project

This one is perfect for everyone working from home! Are you the kind of person who has a million tabs open at once? Tabs for a Cause has partnered with Jackson Galaxy’s (that’s right, the cat expert himself!)Cat Pawsitive initiative! All you need to do is open a new tab and voila! You will be shown two small advertisements and the revenue from those ads will be donated to charity! The extension is free and unintrusive. Their code is open source and they have their financial reports available to view. Tabs for a Cause works with many different charities and has raised over 1 million dollars so far!

Toronto Cat Rescue

Here’s one closer to home. Toronto Cat Rescue has been a staple organization for Toronto felines for years. For many, it is the go-to place to look for a new furry friend! Aiming to save kitties from abuse, neglect or euthanasia, TCR offers many different ways for cat lovers to get involved! Beyond becoming a volunteer foster, you can also donate money, your car or even organize your own fundraiser in support of TCR!

North Toronto Cat Rescue

You might have heard about North Toronto Cat Rescue in the news as they look to relocate from their Vaughn location. Having operated for over 30 years North Toronto has saved countless cats and brought joy to many families. Now, they are searching for a new location to call home! As their search goes on they are still helping cats and could use as much support as possible.

The Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada

This organization advocates for the well-being of all animals nationwide. Established in 1965, the AWFC has provided grants and other financial assistance to animal welfare groups across the country. Understanding that prospective donors may be overwhelmed by the number of animal charities, the AWFC works to advise and educate
individuals on how to make the best impact with their donations.

Humane Canada

This is Canada’s federation of SPCAs and humane societies. They have been a pillar of animal advocacy for over 50 years. Working with the animal industry, governments and media, Humane Canada has built a strong reputation of credibility and compassion. Donors have a multitude of options available to support animals in need from a national food bank to petitions to stop inhumane practices across the country

Giving Back and Paying Forward

Looking for a way to give back to your own community? Why not donate to a local pet food bank or a local rescue group. Rescue groups are almost always looking for donations of items you can find in your home or make, like blankets
With so many great ways to help out animals (either locally or globally), Why not pay a little forward?
